About Libby's Story

Libby is my sister-in-law and one of my favorite people on the planet. We are also very much alike personality-wise. My sister, Mona, says she clicked with Libby when they were first dating because Libby kept doing and saying things that reminded her of me. Which sounds sweet, but I think Mona was actually more motivated by Libby's million-gigawatt hotness.

The most obvious thing Libby and I have in common is a mutual appreciation for naked frolicking (which for some reason tends to be the first thing people notice), but we also laugh at the same jokes, dance to the same music etc. And yes, if she hadn't already been my sister's girlfriend when we met, I totally would have hit on her

One of the more unusual things Libby and I have in common is that we both ended up writing about the exact-same moment in our lives. But although we each mention the other a few times, 95% of our stories are completely different.

That was the year Libby was trying to get pregnant (and did), and during that time she kept a public blog in which she really poured out her heart and told the Internet everything. Most of the Internet was not paying attention, of course, but if it had been, it would have been moved. Meanwhile, I had started a website in college and had posted a few fictional stories and one or two autobiographical things like my experience driving naked. But five or six years later, I wrote at some length about my experience first moving in with the Roommates and my little romance with Jaye.

By the time I was posting those stories, Libby's blog was gone. She stopped updating it after about a year and a few years later the company running that platform went out of business and all their hosted blogs were gone. Fortunately, she had kept copies of all the entries and when I started my own website, I talked her into letting me republish her blog here. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but it's a really compelling story -- way deeper and more personal than my own stuff.
